We dispense the highest quality compounded medications and extensively research and test our formulas for potency and stability. Our state-of-the-art pharmacy helps to ensure that you will receive the highest-quality care. CareFirst Specialty Pharmacy adheres and complies with the USP Pharmacopoeia's Chapter 795 for pharmaceutical Compounding in non-sterile environments, which guidelines pharmacies in applying "good compounding practices in the preparation of non-sterile compounded formulations for dispensing and/or administration to humans or animals." The safety of our patients and your pets is of most important to our practice and our computerized drug management system can detect hazardous drug interactions and dangerous side effects before they happen.

Animal-Friendly Compounding

Animals vary widely by species, size, and how they accept medication. We adjust strengths, create smaller doses, and compound into forms that are easier to give—chews, flavored liquids, transdermals, capsules, or topical preparations.

Working with veterinarians, we avoid problem excipients, combine compatible medications when appropriate, and streamline administration so caregivers can dose confidently.

We can prepare:

  • Palatable flavors and dosage forms that reduce dosing stress.
  • Custom strengths for small animals, exotics, and large breeds.
  • Transdermal options when oral dosing is difficult.
  • Medications that are discontinued, backordered, or hard to source.
  • Combinations and delivery systems tailored to each veterinary case.

Quality & Safety

Veterinary formulations balance taste, dosing ease, and stability. We use high-quality ingredients, validated processes, and appropriate testing so every preparation supports the care plan your practice prescribes.
