Chronic wounds can trigger inflammatory cascades that overwhelm the body. Our pharmacists tailor therapies to the wound and patient, selecting bases and actives to support repair.
The base matters: ointment, cream, or gel may be best depending on the wound. Gel is ideal when irrigation is needed because it’s water-soluble and less disruptive to new tissue growth.
We can also compound polyox (mucosal) bandages that deliver medication while providing a protective barrier—even in the presence of exudate.
