Charles Glatz, B.S.Pharm., CCP

Charles brings over three decades of pharmacy practice to CareFirst Specialty Pharmacy, where he has served as a Compounding Pharmacist since 2019. A graduate of Rutgers University's School of Pharmacy, he has built a career spanning retail, mail-order, and specialty compounding settings.

In his current role, Charles performs compounding and vial fulfillment work in USP <800>-compliant hazardous environments, writing formulas and overseeing daily compounding operations. He works closely with prescribers, technicians, and patients to verify appropriate dosing and therapy, conducts thorough drug utilization reviews to monitor for adverse reactions, and ensures pharmacy records meet FDA, state board, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Earlier in his career, Charles served as a Pharmacy Manager for CVS, a Staff Pharmacist with Medco Health Solutions/Express Scripts, and a Pharmacist with Walgreens, where he administered immunizations and counseled patients on medication therapy.

Charles is a Certified HIV Pharmaceutical Care Pharmacist through the University at Buffalo and a Certified MTM Clinical Pharmacist. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and holds New Jersey Certificates of Eligibility to teach biology and chemistry, reflecting his ongoing commitment to pharmacy education and mentorship.
